Orientation and Mobility Staff from NCCSE Makes a Difference in the Community!

Debi ParkerDebi Parker, Orientation and Mobility Instructor for North Coastal Consortium for Special Education, recently took on the daunting task of petitioning the City of San Marcos to install APS devices at two intersections in the city. These devices allow visually impaired individuals to cross streets safely using auditory signals. Debi followed through on her petition and on December 2, 2009, the City Council voted to install these devices at the corners of Rancho Santa Fe and Grand Avenue and Mission and Palomar College.

Congratulations to Debi for making a big difference in the lives of many individuals with visual impairments!
